Mainland Development Office

Outreaching to the Mainland is a priority for the Institute’s Development Blueprint. The Mainland Development Office has been established to promote and support work in this area. The Office aims to develop the Hong Kong Institute of Education as a preferred provider of high quality teacher education in the Greater China Region.

Mission

To strengthen staff and student exchange with Mainland universities
To develop active research collaboration with Mainland universities
To attract Mainland students to the Institute’s courses
To identify areas in education where the Institute can work in partnership to support Mainland development.

Strategy

To promote strategic partnership with prestigious universities, provincial education authorities and school districts on the Mainland
To develop resources for the HKIEd community to facilitate the planning of exchange and collaborative activities
To increase access to information about the Institute’s programmes for Mainland students
To work with sister learning support units to enhance the campus support for Mainland students
To collect data on education developments on the Mainland
