I am a secondary school graduate. If I wish to become a kindergarten teacher, is there a course I can pursue to become a qualfied teacher in Hong Kong?

Is there a course at undergraduate level in early childhood education?
Ans:
The Institute offers the Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Early Childhood Education) Programme, which is a 3-year mixed mode programme for in-service teachers, and the Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Early Childhood Education) Programme (4-year Full-time) for pre-servcie teachers. I am a registered kindergarten teacher and holds the QKT qualification. How can I enhance my qualification to Certificate of Education level?
Ans:
The Institute offers the Certificate in Kindergarten Education Programme for in-service teachers who hold the QKT qualification to upgrade to CE level. The programme is offered in the 2-year day release/evening mixed mode. For programme information and admission enquiry, you may also contact the Registry.

If I have taken an earlier course in early childhood education elsewhere and am admitted to a programme in your Institute, can I be exempted from part of the programme based on my previous studies?
Ans:
Students can apply and be granted credit exemption for certain modules of a programme in accordance with the Institute's policies. Assessment of a module to be exempted is based on the equivalence of the module contents in question. For further details, you may also contact the Registry.

I am a university graduate. If I wish to become a kindergarten teacher, is there a course I can pursue to become a qualified teacher in Hong Kong?
Ans:
The Institute offers the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Early Childhood Education) Programme, which is a 2-year part-time programme for practising untrained early childhood teachers. For programme information and admission enquiry, you may also contact the Registry.
